Yaseen Anwar
Governor
State Bank of Pakistan

Mr. Anwar is the 17th Governor of SBP since its inception in 1948. Mr. Anwar has served the State Bank as its Deputy Governor since 29th March 2007, and managed all the four clusters of the Central Bank i.e. Banking, Reserve Management, Monetary Policy, and Operations; SBP subsidiaries - Banking Services Corporation (BSC) and the National Institute of Banking & Finance (NIBAF). Mr. Anwar has served on the Boards of SBP, Pakistan Security Printing Corp. (PSPC), Policy Board of SECP, Board of NIBAF and SAARC Payments Council Board. He is a member of Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of SBP Central Board and has interacted with the IMF under the Standby Arrangement with Pakistan. As a senior global banker, Mr. Anwar brought 33 years of international banking experience to SBP. During this period, he worked at major international financial centers that included New York, London and Paris with JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America and Merrill Lynch. Mr. Anwar was the founder of the Pakistan Bankers Association, U.K. and remained its President from 1997 to 1999. He was also a member of the Arab Bankers Association, U.K. In New York, he had served as an Executive Director on the American Turkish Society, Director on the US-Pakistan Economic Council, Director on the American Middle East Business Association and Member of the Council on Foreign Relations. www.sbp.org.pk

Mr. Sicre was Managing Director of the World Economic Forum (WEF) from 2000-2005. Sicre has initiated dialogue and reconciliation initiatives during South Africa’s transition to democracy and between Palestinians and Israelis. He also initiated the first Africa and Arab World Competitiveness reports. Mr. Sicre further oversaw the creation of the Arab Business Council and is editor of South Africa at Ten - a book celebrating the ten years of democracy in the country.

Mr. Sicre holds an MBA from IMD, Switzerland, a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences from Villanova University, Philadelphia and is a fellow of Stanford University, Palo Alto.

Rajiv Vastupal

Mr Rajiv Vastupal is Chairman & Managing Director of Rajiv Petrochemicals Pvt Ltd, a flagship company of Team Rajiv. The group was formed by Mr Rajiv in 1979. Team Rajiv is one of the largest agency house in Gujarat for polymers and electrical switchgear. It is also one of the major producers of woven sack bags in the country.

Rajiv Petrochemicals Pvt. Ltd, is a leader in trading of petrochemicals and polymers. It is one of the largest distributors of polypropylene and polyethylene from Haldia Petrochemicals, PVC resin and EDC from Finolex, polysterine from LG, polyester film from Jindal and many other products.

Mr. Rajiv Vastupal is currently the  president at the prestigious All India Management Association (AIMA). He served Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA) as President from 2005 to 2007 and contributed Rs. 50 lakh for building state of the art J. B. Auditorium as a farewell gesture. A generous corpus of Rs. 10 lakh has also been donated to AMA to start Rajiv Vastupal Achievers Academy, where various activities are performed like Diploma in Sales, Achievers’ Award, publications and lectures addressed by achievers. He is the founder of Gujarat Chapter, YPO and is Membership Chair of YPO at present. He is also member of the Board of Governors at IIM, Rohtak. D Shivakumar
Senior Vice President, All India Management Association and Senior Vice President, Nokia India, Middle East & Africa

Shivakumar or ‘Shiv’ as he is popularly known is currently the Managing Director and VP of Nokia India. From January 1, 2012, Shiv handles India, Middle East and Africa for Nokia as the Senior VP, based out of Dubai. Shiv is an Engineer and an MBA. Shiv is essentially a Marketer and a General Manager. Shiv has run more than 34 brands in his career over two decades. Shiv is a ‘growth’ manager, having grown every brand and business he has been associated with. He has a track record of building brands, developing people and bringing creative and innovative business model solutions in the categories and industries he has worked in.

Shiv is an avid reader, he writes regularly for business magazines and teaches regularly at all the top business schools across the world. The achievements of the Nokia India team under Shiv have been case studies at Harvard, ISB and the Ivey School of Business. In the last six years, Nokia has become India’s largest multinational and also was the most trusted brand between 2007 and 2010, surpassing many hundred and fifty year old household brands in India.

Shiv is on the board of Godrej Consumer Products and is also the Senior Vice President of the All India Management Association. Shiv has received many awards, One of top five Marketers in India 2003, Brand Builder of the year in 2008, Best CEO in 2009 and recently his alma mater IIM Calcutta awarded him the most distinguished alumnus award in November 2011 during their golden jubilee celebrations, one of nine alumni to get this in the history of IIM Calcutta. Khalid Awan

Mr. Awan is co-founder and Chairman of TCS. His businesses developed over the past 25 years are collectively called the ‘Tranzum’ group.     

A mechanical engineer by education, Mr. Awan and TCS, are subject of a Harvard Business School Case Study on ‘International Entrepreneurship’ - included in the MBA curriculum for the past six years. Besides business he devotes his time to several welfare, and professional bodies. Mr. Awan is a lifetime member of the ‘World Presidents Organization’ an alumni and past Chapter Chairman of the Young Presidents Organization –YPO, and member of their Peace Action Network Forum that works for global peace.

He is Toronto Committee member of ‘Human Rights Watch’, is Director of the Toronto based 'Canada-Pakistan Business Council, and member of the Dubai based 'Canada-Arab Business Council', and he represented the Paris based ‘International Chambers of Commerce’ (www.wbo.org) at the United Nations General Assembly session on ‘Millennium Development Goals’ in 2003.

Kamran Y. Mirza

Mr. Kamran Y. Mirza qualified as a Chartered Accountant from United Kingdom in 1968. Mr. Mirza started his career in Pakistan as an auditor with A. F. Ferguson & Co.

Mr. Mirza then made a career move in December 1970 and joined Abbott Laboratories (Pakistan) Limited, a multinational pharmaceutical cum health care company as Chief Financial Officer. He became one of the youngest Managing Director's of his time in the year 1977 and remained in that position for 29 years.

Mr. Mirza held the position of Chairman Export Processing Zones Authority from February 2007 to March 2009 and then joined Pakistan Business Council as its Chief Executive Officer, a position he currently holds. Pakistan Business Council is a Think Tank cum Business Advocacy Forum. He is also currently the Chairman of National Commodity Exchange (NCEL) and serving as Director on the Boards of several organizations, Abbott Laboratories, International Steel (ISL), Competitiveness Support Fund (CSF) and Board of Investment (BOI). He is also the Chairman of a Task Force set up by the Planning Commission on Pharmaceutical Industry and members of two others.

Previously, he served as Chairman Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE), President of Overseas Chamber of Commerce & Industry (OICCI), President of American Business Council (ABC), Chairman of Pharma Bureau – (Association of Pharmaceutical Multinationals) and Director on the Boards of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Pakistan State Oil (PSO), Pakistan Steel (PS), National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), Pakistan Textile City Limited and NAVTEC. Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi

Professor Dr. S. Sohail H. Naqvi is the current Executive Director of the Commission, and was appointed to the post in September 2004, having previously served as the Member (Human Resource Development and Strategic Planning) of the Commission since its establishment in 2002. He has an MS and PhD in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, Indiana, USA. Previously, from 1995 to 1999, he was Dean of the Faculty of Electronics, Ghulam Ishaq Khan (GIK) Institute of Technology, Topi, Pakistan. During his tenure at GIK, the Faculty of Electronics became established as a premier electronics engineering department in South Asia. He was also Assistant/Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering of the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, USA, from 1988 to 1995.                                             

The Executive Director of the Higher Education Commission serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the organization with the status of ex-officio Federal Secretary to the Government of Pakistan. He is the Principal Accounting Officer of the Commission.

Syed Ali Raza

Mr. S. Ali Raza is the Chairman, NBP Board of Directors. Mr. Raza is a graduate of the London School of Economics and M.Sc. in Admn. Science from the London Graduate Business Centre, City University, London. Before joining the National Bank of Pakistan in July 2000 as the Bank’s President, he held a key management position as Managing Director and Regional Head, Pakistan, Middle East and North Africa at the Bank of America (BOA).

Mr. Raza remained President of NBP from July 2000 to January 2011

Tariq Sayeed Saigol
Chairman, Kohinoor Maple Leaf Group

Since 1984, Tariq Sayeed Saigol has been Chairman of the Kohinoor Maple Leaf Group, which has interests in textiles, cement manufacturing and energy.

He has been Chairman All Pakistan Textile Mills Association in 1992-94, President of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry for 1995-97 and Chairman, All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association from 2003-2006. He is the author of Textile Vision 2005, adopted by the Government in 2000.

Saigol, an Aitchisonian, has keen interest in education, and serves on the boards of some renowned educational institution of the country. He is conferred with Sitara-e-Isaar by President of Pakistan in 2006. Saigol is married and has 3 children.

Dr. Adil Najam
Vice Chancellor
Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS)

Prof. Adil Najam was appointed Vice Chancellor (equivalent of president) of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in Lahore Pakistan in the summer of 2011.  He served as the Director of the Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future at Boston University from November 2007 through August 2011.

Prof. Najam was a co-author for the Third and Fourth Assessments of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC); work for which the scientific panel was awarded the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for advancing the public understanding of climate change science. In 2008 he was invited by the United Nations Secretary General to serve on the UN Committee on Development (CDP). In 2010 he was awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Star of Excellence), one of Pakistan's highest civil awards by the President of Pakistan. He also serves on the Advisory Board for the 2011 Human Development Report of the UNDP.

He is a past winner of MIT's Goodwin Medal for Effective Teaching, the Fletcher School Paddock Teaching Award, and the Stein Rokan Award of the International Political Science Association, the ARNOVA Emerging Scholar Award, and the Pakistan Television Medal for Outstanding Achievement. Prof. Najam also serves on the editorial boards of various scholarly publications, including Global Governance, Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly, The Journal of Ecological Economics, Annual Editions: Environment, and The Encyclopedia of Earth. Prof. Najam is frequently interviewed by and writes for the popular media and is the founding editor of the blog Pakistaniat.com (voted the Best Current Affairs Blog in Pakistan (2010) and also won the 2010 Brass Crescent Award for Best Muslim Blog from South Asia).

Kamal Chinoy

Mr. Kamal Amir Chinoy is Chief Executive of Pakistan Cables Ltd. He graduated from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, USA. He serves on the Board of Directors of International Industries Ltd., International Steels Ltd, Pakistan Security Printing Corp (printers of the country's banknotes) and Atlas Battery Ltd. He is also Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Cyprus.

Mr. Kamal Chinoy is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Pakistan and the President of the Management Association of Pakistan (MAP). He was the Chairman of Aga Khan Foundation, Pakistan for 6 years. He was also on the Board of Governors of Army Burn Hall Institutions. He has also served for 3 years on the Undergraduate Admissions Committee of the Aga Khan University.

He is a "Certified Director" having been certified by the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance. He speaks four languages, including French.
