A well known industrialist, he comes from a respectable Memon family enjoying very good reputation in trade and industry and is famous for his social welfare activities also.
A Bachelor of Commerce, he set up textile industries besides setting up very well known Bonanza Garment, and Gatron Industries under Ghani and Tayyub Group. He is Managing Director of Gatron and entered into manufacturing of synthetics. He is also a trend-setter in the manufacturing of fashion garments. More than five decades of operational excellence, experience and expertise form a combined strength to empower the group as the pioneer in synthetic textiles in Pakistan. More than 6,500 employees represent the work force in all its group companies. The annual turnover of the group is in excess of US$350 million. Gatron Industries is the only manufacturer of P.E.T. Resin in Pakistan, which is also being exported.
He is a Secretary and Founder Member of Memon Youth Organization, Rotary Club, Member "Commecs" College, Member Executive Committee K.M.C.H. Society and Pakistan Bangladesh Friendship Association. He is actively engaged and involved in the promotion of education in less developed areas. Peer Mohammad Diwan is also the Chairman of Memon Medical Institute which is a hundred percent donor funded project of the Memon Health and Education Foundation and one of the largest projects undertaken to provide accessible and affordable quality health care and education to all with dignity, respect and empathy.

Barclays Bank Pakistan
Shahzad Dada is the Managing Director and the Country Head of Barclays Bank Pakistan. In this role, Shahzad has the overall responsibility for managing all Barclays' businesses in Pakistan. Currently, Barclays Bank Pakistan is providing services to over 24,000 retail customers and corporate clients from 15 branches. Dada will also work closely with other Barclays' colleagues to develop the synergies and opportunities for its corporate businesses in Asia, the Middle East and Russia.
Dada joins Barclays from Deutsche Bank, where he was serving as chief country officer and head of Global Banking in Pakistan. Prior to taking up this role, he was the managing director in the Mergers, Acquisitions and Corporate Advisory Group at Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. in New York and head of the Media M&A practice in the Americas. He has extensive experience in investment banking having worked on a variety of Corporate Finance and M&A transactions over the past 20 years totaling over $100 billion. Â
He holds a BS and a BA with honors from the University of Pennsylvania, and a MBA from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania.
Shazad Dada is serving on the Executive Committee of Pakistan Bank's Association, The Institute of Bankers Pakistan, Pakistan German Business Forum. He is also associated with various notable charitable organizations. |
