Abdul Razzak Dawood, an entrepreneur of repute is the Chairman of Descon. He is a former Federal Minister for Commerce, Industries and Production, Government of Pakistan.
His former corporate positions include CEO, Dawood Hercules Chemicals and Lawrencepur Woolen & Textile. Razzak has been on board of various corporate giants such as ICI Pakistan, KSB Pumps, PIA, & State Bank of Pakistan. Currently he holds the position of Rector, LUMS Business School as well as being the Chairman, Pakistan Business Council and Trustee, CARE Foundation.
Razzak Dawood holds a BSc (Mining Engg) from Newcastle University, (UK) and an MBA from Columbia University, US.

Mr. Arif Habib is the Chairman & Chief Executive of
Arif Habib Securities Limited a Company listed on
Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad Stock Exchanges with
an equity of over Rs. 17 billion. He is also the Chairman
of Arif Habib Bank Limited, Pakarab Fertilizers Limited, Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited, Thatta Cement Company Limited and Arif Habib DMCC Dubai.
Mr. Arif Habib has remained the President / Chairman
of Karachi Stock Exchanges six times in the past. He
is the Founding Member and Former Chairman of the
Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited. He
has served as Member of the Privatization
Commission, Board of Investment, Tariff Reforms
Commission and Securities & Exchange Ordinance Review Committee.
As the President of the Karachi Stock Exchange, he
was responsible for introducing a number of reforms
including the establishment of central depository
system, introduction of computerized trading and risk
management system at Karachi Stock Exchange.
He has participated in a number of professional
advancement courses including on Development of
Securities Market organized by the SEC, USA at
Washington, D.C. in 1992. He visited over a dozen of
stock exchanges in different countries for exchange
of views.
On the social services front Mr. Arif Habib is a
significant participant of welfare activities of different
organizations. To quote a few he is one of the trustees
of Fatmid Foundation and Memon Health & Education
Foundation and director of Pakistan Centre for
Philanthropy and Memon Medical Centre. |

Ms. Kristina Nyzell is the Managing Director of Disruptive
Play FZ LLC, a Dubai based Human Resource
Consultancy based in Knowledge Village which
specialises in open source lead user innovation and
project based learning as an event format.
Kristina has an MA in Organisational Analysis &
Behaviour from the Department of Organisational
Studies, Management School, Lancaster University,
United Kingdom and a BSc in International Marketing
from Uppsala University. She is an experienced strategy
consultant specialising in open source, lead user /collaborative innovation and community development.
Kristina was previously Global Head of LEGO Club
and Community, Global Strategy Consultant with KPMG
UK and head of International Marketing for
Parcelforce/RM UK. She is an experienced
entrepreneur with companies in United Kingdom,
Switzerland and the UAE. She set up her company
Disruptive Play in 2007 specialising in collaborative
innovation and practice based learning events and
tools. Kristina is an experienced facilitator, certified
LSP practitioner and master trainer. Amongst the
companies Kristina has worked with on community
driven projects are LEGO, FIFA, Manchester University
and KAUST. |

Khurram Hamid is a change artist. One of the key
thought leaders for digital marketing innovation for
Procter and Gamble globally. He has proven leadership
in developing new ways of thinking and new strategies
to help companies develop new business approaches,
linking technology and business objectives to the
bottom line with generating over $50M in value. At
the same time he was ensuring that business
transformation occurred through transforming the
culture, which is not just a strategy but a new approach
to do business. He is currently the Global Head of
Mobile Marketing Innovation for Procter and Gamble; previously he was the Head of Interactive Marketing
for Central Europe Middle East and Africa.
Through his leadership he is leading Procter and
Gamble into the New Age of Digital Marketing by
looking for new advertising models and to ensure
P&G wins in this space.

Ms. Roshaneh Zafar is the Founder and Managing
Director of Kashf Foundation which is based in
Pakistan. The organization has grown from a mere
15 female clients in 1996 to 301,000 clients today. It
is one of the fastest growing MFIs in the country, it is
the first one to achieve financial self sufficiency and
continues to have a portfolio at risk of less than 0.8%.
Kashf was also the first NGO-MFI to broaden the
scope of microfinance by introducing insurance
services and has recently started pilot research for
introducing individual lending in order to target the "missing middle" in the microfinance market. In 2002,
Kashf Foundation was awarded the Microfinance
Excellence Award by the Grameen Foundation-USA
for its groundbreaking innovations in the field of
microfinance in Pakistan, while in 2005 it won the
AGFUND International Prize for Microcredit 2005 out
of 98 countries. Kashf Foundation and Ms Roshaneh
Zafar was also awarded the Skoll Award for Social
Entrepreneurship in March 2007. Kashf Foundation
has been ranked 34 out of the top 50 MFIs by Forbes.
Ms. Zafar has also spearheaded and led the team to
establish the Kashf Microfinance Bank which
is going to be the first MFB in Pakistan to mobilize
deposits from low income households especially
women. Kashf Microfinance Bank received its
license in October 2008.
Ms. Zafar founded the Kashf Foundation - the first
specialized microfinance organization in Pakistan - in
1996 after a chance meeting with Professor
Muhammd Yunus of the Grameen Bank. Ms Zafar
has also been awarded the Tamgha i Imtiaz, one of
Pakistan's highest civilian awards, by the President
of Pakistan for her work in the field of development
and women's empowerment. Ms. Zafar is a graduate
of the Wharton Business School University of
Pennsylvania in Finance and Economics. She also
holds a Masters in International and Development Economics from Yale University. |
